Policy Rule Definition of series and determination of historic rights

Several European coordinators have developed a guidance with the objective to promote that the determination of historic rights is done in a harmonised manner, guided by the prime objective of airport slot coordination to ensure the most efficient declaration, allocation, and use of available airport capacity.

ACNL implemented the guidance through today’s published ACNL Policy Rule Definition of series and determination of historic rights.

It contains two parts:

• 1. Definition of series of slots
  2. Usage of series of slots (use-it-or-lose-it rule)

The Policy Rule will be effective from W25. ACNL advises airlines to anticipate in S25 Initial Submission on the Policy Rule.
